In wearable protection systems, every millisecond can make a difference. This is the concept behind the LM-24-002, the pyrotechnic actuator developed by Monetti Srl for the controlled activation of pressurized gas cartridges.
With a weight of only 12 g and an activation time of less than 15 ms, the LM-24-002 combines compact dimensions with fast operation, making it particularly suitable for systems where space, weight and response time are key requirements. When electrically triggered, its piston pierces the cartridge membrane, allowing the pressurized gas to be released and the connected airbag system to inflate.
The LM-24-002 can be used with pressurized cartridges of different sizes, provided they feature a 3/8″-24 UNF thread connection. It is also compatible with cartridges containing different types of pressurized gas, offering greater flexibility for different system configurations and technical requirements.
Its main applications include wearable airbag systems for cycling, motorcycling, horse riding and skiing, as well as hip protection devices and fall-protection systems for people working at height.
Thanks to its compact dimensions, low weight, fast activation and compatibility with different cartridges, the LM-24-002 represents a versatile solution for the development of modern personal protection systems.
